Apples

Apples reduce heart disease, improve memory and reduce the risk of lung, breast and colon cancer. They decrease wrinkles, stabilize blood sugar, reduce allergies and can improve hair growth. In addition, the pectin in apples can also bind with heavy metals and other toxic compounds like pesticides to help remove them from the digestive tract.

Carrots

Carrots are high in minerals and are an excellent source of beta-carotene. They are good for eye disorders, cataracts, tooth disorders, skin care, nervous disorders, indigestion, constipation, diarrhea, arthritis, gout and lung ailments like chronic cough and cancer.

Basil

Basil protects chromosomes from radiation and oxygen-based "free radical" damage. In addition, basil is anti-parasitic, anti-bacterial and has anti-inflammatory properties. Basil also helps prevent free radicals from oxidizing cholesterol in the blood stream and keeps hormones in balance.

Leeks

Leeks contain anti-cancer compounds especially beneficial for fighting prostate and colon cancers. They lower blood pressure, help reduce intestinal bloating, improve digestion and repopulate the 'good' bacteria in the intestines. Leeks also help reduce the oxidation of LDL cholesterol in the blood and reduce the absorption of cholesterol from the intestines.

Cranberries

Cranberries are best known for their ability to help with urinary tract infections (UTI's) however, cranberries have powerful anti-cancer agents especially helpful for the breast, colon, lung and prostate. Cranberries also benefit the cardiovascular system and have anti-inflammatory benefits. * Be sure the juice/berries are pure with no additives like sugar or high fructose corn syrup. To sweetened use raw blue agave syrup or stevia.

Asparagus

Asparagus are an excellent source of Vitamin C, A, K, and B vitamins—especially folic acid. Blending raw asparagus has been known to reverse heart disease, stabilize blood pressure, improve kidney function and prevent or reverse some forms of cancer particularly colon, kidney, lymphatic, prostate and stomach. Simply blend (or juice) 5 to 6 spears with 1-cup water in the blender and drink daily.

Lemons

Lemons are one of natures best detox foods. When added to water they purify and stimulate the liver, stabilize electrolytes, aid digestion, balance pH and help the bowels eliminate. In addition, they can also help lower blood pressure.

Yogurt

Yogurt maximizes nutrient absorption into the body keeping the digestive system and immune system healthy. The lactobacillus (also called probiotics or the 'good' bacteria) helps balance the body's yeast levels, which can prevent yeast and urinary tract infections. Yogurt has also been known to help with gastrointestinal problems such as constipation, diarrhea, lactose intolerance, food intolerance, blood sugar problems and irritable bowl syndrome. It can also help prevent ulcers and stomach cancer.

    Sickening Sweet Sodas
